ANZAC Day Preview: Rovers v Old Brighton

Hampton Rovers hosts local rivals Old Brighton at Boss James Reserve this Saturday in the biggest home game of the season. The pre-game ANZAC Day Luncheon is close to sold-out with only limited spots remaining.

It’s a big Triple Header with the Under 19s kicking-off at 9:20am against Old Carey, followed by the Reserves and Seniors vs Old Brighton with the main game kicking off at 2:15pm.

2015 marks the 100th anniversary of the ANZAC landings at Gallipoli and a ceremony will be held prior to the start of the main game.

The Seniors sit fifth on the ladder with a 1-1 record after going down to St Bedes/Mentone last week. Like the Tigers, Old Brighton also came down from Premier section and will provide another big test for the Rovers. They currently sit top of the ladder with two wins.

The Rovers are set to have a few changes with players returning from injury. All is set for a massive game and a big crowd is expected to descend on Boss James Reserve to see who’ll win the battle of Bayside.

If you’re unable to get to the ground, you can get Live Scores on the Rovers website and mobile site (click here) as well as updates on Twitter (@HRAFC) & Instagram (hamptonrovers).

As of Thursday evening, over 110 people had already booked for the ANZAC Day Luncheon and with further bookings on Friday, it is now almost sold-out. Commencing at 12 midday, the Luncheon costs $30 per head. To book, contact Gary Nash on gnash@jte.com.au or 0407 313 054 | view details >

Also on Saturday, the Thirds travel to Essendon to face PEGS, commencing at 11:40am.

Everyone is welcome back to the Boss following the big game where the bar will be open from the final siren until late into the night.
