The VAFA has released the 2015 Premier B fixture with the Rovers to unfurl the Premiership flag at Boss James Reserve on opening day against Mazenod.
The new season kicks-off on Saturday 11th April, the week after Easter, and there will be three byes during the season: 6th June, 4th July and 11th July.
Round two will see the Rovers make the short trip to St Bedes/Mentone Tigers while round three will be a huge ANZAC Day clash at Boss James Reserve against another local side coming down from Premier division, Old Brighton. Hampton has had great rivalries with both club’s but hasn’t played the Tigers since 2006 and the ‘Tonners since 2011.
The Grand Final rematch will be played in round five when the Rovers host Parkdale Vultures at Boss James Reserve. It’ll be consecutive home games with the Rovers hosting Caulfield Grammarians in round six.
Rounds six and seven will see two consecutive games at Albert Park with clashes against Old Melburnians at Junction Oval and Ajax at Gary Smorgon Oval.
Premier B section in 2015 features a number of local derbies and the longest trip is Fitzroy with the Rovers playing at the historic Brunswick Street Oval in round 15 while the final round of the regular season will be away from home against the Vultures.
There will be some improved facilities at away venues in 2015 with both Brighton Beach Oval and Gerry Green Reserve currently being resurfaced while St Kevins has an impressive new pavilion at TH King Oval. Also, Mazenod now play at the newer Oval 2 at Central Reserve.
The Rovers are working hard to ensure the momentum built over the past two seasons continues to grow in 2015. Pre-Season training has got off to a great start and we welcome new players to the club.
