Top-two on the line as Rovers host Blues

Hampton Rovers and Monash Blues face-off at Boss James Reserve on Saturday in the most critical game of the season to-date with the double-chance in the finals on the line.

Both sides are equal-second on the Premier C ladder, one game behind Marcellin, and the winner will likely secure that second spot on the table with two games remaining follow Saturday’s game.

When they last met in round six at Monash University in Clayton, it was the home side that prevailed by eight points. The two teams now sit on 11 wins each with just the four losses.

Saturday promises to be a big game and we encourage everyone to get along to Boss James Reserve to show their support in this vital game.

It’s a triple-header at the Boss on Saturday with the U19s taking on Collegians first-up at 9:20am. The young Rovers are in red-hot form at the moment, winning their past six matches and in the top four. The Reserves follow at 11:40am before the main game at 2:00pm.

It’s the second-last home game of 2014 and that means the penultimate home game luncheon of the year. Don’t miss your chance – enjoy a first-class meal before the game and reserve your spot now by contacting Gary Nash on gnash@jte.com.au or 0407 313 054. The cost is $30 and the lunch commences at 12 midday.

If you can’t make it to the game, you can keep up-to-date with the live scores here and on the mobile site (m.hamptonrovers.com.au), updates & photos on Twitter (@HRAFC) and photos on Instagram (hamptonrovers).

Also on Saturday, the Thirds take on Old Ivanhoe away from home at 9:20am. There is a bus organises to get the team there and back.

The bar will open immediately following the seniors game at around 4:30pm and we welcome everyone back in the social rooms for a drink.
