Hampton hosts Marcellin

The Hampton Rovers return to Boss James Reserve on Saturday for a big home game against top-side Marcellin. It’s also a triple-header and a big luncheon featuring 50-year members of the club.

After a disappointing result last week, the Rovers will be looking to bounce back and put in a solid performance against the ladder-leaders. Last time they met in round two at Bulleen, the Rovers stunned the Eagles, getting up by 52 points in a dominant display. After 11 rounds, Marcellin sit on top of the Premier C Ladder with the Rovers third (equal second).

The two sides will look vastly different since that game earlier in the season but it promises to be a high-quality hit-out and an important game in the context of the season. The Rovers side has five changes from last week and includes two players making their senior debut while it’s also good to see some key players returning. That takes the total number of players used in the seniors this year to 47.

It’s a triple-header at Boss James Reserve with the Thirds getting proceedings underway at 9:20am against Monash Blues in a very winnable game. The Reserves will follow at 11:40am against Marcellin and the main game at 2:00pm.

The Home Game Luncheon on Saturday will recognise the 50-year members of the Hampton Rovers Football Club, of which many are still involved today. And we encourage all those from the 1964-era to come along and enjoy the day. We also encourage the Thirds players and supporters to attend. Book through Gary Nash on or 0407 313 054.

During half time of the seniors match at Boss James Reserve, we’ll have participants from the Hampton Rovers Auskick program in a mini game, so keep an eye out for some future stars!

Also on Saturday, the Under 19s take on Monash Blues at Monash University in Clayton commencing at 9:20am. Click Here to view all fixtures.

You can get live scores and updates from the action at Boss James Reserve on the Rovers website, mobile site, Twitter and Instagram.

Following the main game at Boss James Reserve, the Bar will be open (from approximately 4:30pm) with match awards held at around 5:30pm.

We welcome everyone along for a big day at the Boss!
