Rd10: Hampton v Ormond

Hampton Rovers face arch-rivals Ormond this Saturday at EE Gunn Reserve in the second instalment of the Buxton Cup for the 2014 season.

The Rovers have had the better of their rivals in recent times, winning the previous five encounters, including last year’s Grand Final and round three this year when Hampton ran out 20 point winners at Boss James Reserve.

At the half way point of the season, Hampton sit equal second on the Premier C ladder on six wins while Ormond have dropped to second-last with just the two victories, however local derby’s bring out the best of both sides and it’s sure to be much closer than ladder positions suggest.

The club encourages everyone to get along to EE Gunn Reserve and show their support as the Rovers look to continue their good form and aim to win their fourth-straight game. The Seniors kick-off at 2:00pm and the Reserves who’re desperately looking for a win at 11:40am.

The Under 19s will be confident of securing their fourth win of the season when they host Old Haileybury at Boss James Reserve commencing at 2:00pm.

Meanwhile, the Thirds now have a Bye this weekend after Old Haileybury removed their Third XVIII team from the competition.
