Grand Final Replay at the Boss

Hampton Rovers host Ormond in a replay of the 2013 Grand Final at Boss James Reserve on Saturday. It’s also the latest instalment of the Buxton Cup as the two arch-rivals to head-to-head in what will be a huge day.

The Rovers currently sit on top of the Premier C ladder after two solid victories while Ormond fourth on one win. The boys from the Boss will be looking for a repeat performance on last year’s Grand Final which resulted in a 58-point victory and the club’s first senior premiership since 2001.

On Saturday, the Rovers have five changes to the side including the return of Sam Clements and a senior debut for Nigel Bloomfield.

Both teams will be playing for the Buxton Cup while the player judged to be best on ground will be awarded the Russell Barnes Medal.

Prior to the main game there will be a small service to commemorate ANZAC Day with members from the Hampton RSL.

It promises to be a big clash and we encourage everyone to get along and show their support.

Live scores and updates will be available on the Rovers website, mobile site and Twitter (@HRAFC). Follow us on Instagram (hamptonrovers) for photos also.

It’s a triple-header with the Under 19s kicking things off at 9:20am when they face Beaumaris. The Reserves follow at 11:40am with the Seniors at 2:00pm. Meanwhile, the Thirds make the short trip to Parkdale to take on the Vultures commencing at the early time of 9:20am.

There are limited spots available for the pre-game President’s Luncheon, commencing at 12 midday sharp. Please contact Gary Nash on 0407 313 054.

Following the match, everyone is welcome back in the social rooms where the bar will be open and match presentations for all four games will be held at around 5:30pm. The bar will be open until late.
