Rovers back on the track

2014 Hampton Rovers senior pre-season training got back underway this week with good numbers on the track and plenty of enthusiasm as a big year in Premier C section looms.

This year the club has the luxury of training on our home ground at Boss James Reserve which is a huge plus as the 2013 premiers look to rise to the next level and have another successful season.

Around 40 players hit the track including a number of new and returning faces. Training continues each Monday and Wednesday, commencing at 6pm at Boss James Reserve. We welcome everyone along, especially any new players interested in playing for the Rovers in 2014.

The countdown is already on to round one with the Rovers to host Parkdale Vultures at Boss James Reserve in around ten weeks time. Details of practice matches will be confirmed soon.

In 2013, the club won its first senior premiership in 12 years and in the process earned immediate promotion back to Premier C section. Plans are already well advanced in putting the foundations in place for another successful year. A new reserves coach has been appointed in Steven Kidd while a number of support roles are to be filled and the refreshed facilities at Boss James Reserve are looking sensational.

The senior section of the club will again field four teams in the VAFA: Seniors, Reserves, Thirds and Under 19s, and we welcome all players along to pre-season training.
