Rovers achieve Silver Level for AFL Quality Club Program

Hampton Rovers Football Club has achieved Silver Level in the AFL Victoria Quality Club Program. Currently there are just 18 clubs in Victoria with silver status and the club is now working hard to become the 5th club in the state to achieve gold status.

The AFL Victoria Quality Club Program is a program about standards in club administration. Instituted in 2005, the program is designed to recognise and reward community football clubs for achieving a base standard of club administration through to levels of excellence.

AFL Victoria has a responsibility to grow and develop our great game across the entire state. It is widely acknowledged that community football clubs and leagues are the foundation of Australian football, and that the future growth of the game will depend on the strength and viability of community football. With this in mind, AFL Victoria is striving to assist community football clubs to enhance their operations for the betterment of football.

The concept of the Quality Club Program is to provide an opportunity for all community football clubs in Victoria to achieve a minimum standard of club administration and to recognise and reward clubs for achieving the base standard through to standards of excellence. Clubs have the opportunity to achieve Bronze, Silver and Gold status.

The club would like to thank Belinda Bacon (committee member – policies and procedures) for all of her hard work in achieving the Silver status. Only 4 clubs in Victoria have achieved the Gold status, 18 with Silver status and 75 with Bronze status. This means Belinda has been able to achieve the second highest level to put us in the top percentage of clubs in the State.

Over the next 12 months the club will work towards Gold Status which Belinda feels is very achievable.
