The Rovers season of struggle continued Saturday with a loss at the hands of Mazenod at a cold, dark and wet Central Reserve.
The margin against Mazenod, who were second-bottom going into the game, was similar to that of the previous two weeks against the top two teams in C Section. The home side by some reports had some VFL inclusions to bolster their line-up. The young Rovers side tried, but couldnt compete, clearly lacking confidence. Leigh Fletcher was again the stand-out for the green n gold.
For the second week running, all of the Rovers goals were kicked by a single player, this time it was Ed Turner.

Our backs were always under pressure and when both key defenders are playing on opponents significantly taller and fatter (well one was) it was always going to be difficult job. Sammy Clements never gave up, big Harvey Scholes battled on manfully in the ruck against bigger opponents and was always at the contest. Full results >>
