Rd13: Rovers face Oakleigh

Hampton Rovers take on arch-rivals Oakleigh this Saturday at an alternate venue, Warrawee Park, on Warrigal Road (the former VFA ground).

The Krushers have moved the game from WA Scammell Reserve to the home of the Oakleigh Chargers TAC Cup side to celebrate community football in the big game vs the Rovers and to pay tribute to Des Baker who was a founding father of the club. It will be the first time senior footy has been held at the ground in years.

The Rovers will be looking to spoil the Krushers party and continue their improved form on the field following last week’s gutsy performance against Old Brighton. Hampton will field a good team and as has been the case all year, a young team. In all, eight players are 21 or under which bodes well for the future.

Make sure you get along and show your support for the Rovers in this big game. The Seniors get underway at 2:00pm with the Reserves at 11:40am. Live scores will also be available for the Rovers Twitter: @HRAFC

The Under 19’s are also playing away on Saturday when they take on Old Camberwell at Gordon Barnard Reserve commencing at 2pm.

The Thirds take on Mazenod in their final home game of 2011, kicking-off at 11:40am at Boss James Reserve. Congratulations to Mitch Westhead who plays his 200th club game. Mitch first played for the Rovers in 1993 and has played 93 junior games and over 100 senior games.
