Rd12: Rovers host Brighton

Hampton Rovers take on the in-form Old Brighton Grammarians on Saturday in a big local derby at Boss James Reserve. It’s a big day with the U19’s opening proceedings in a triple-header at the Boss. Book your spot in now for the President’s Luncheon.

The Rovers showed a much improved performance against Old Ivanhoe before the VAFA representative week-off and an inclusion or two may see that improvement continue against an Old Brighton side that has won six on the trot.

As mentioned it’ll be a bumper day at the Boss with three sides in action (for our Auskick readers – this week’s session will be held Friday evening). The Under 19’s will kick it off at 9:20am taking on Marcellin, followed by the Reserves at 11:40am and Seniors at 2:00pm taking on local rivals Old Brighton Grammarians.

The third-last pre-game President’s Luncheon of the year kicks-off at 12:30pm with the bar open from 12 midday. This week we’re pleased to have Australian Paralympic Basketball gold medallist Dylan Alcott as guest speaker. Dylan won gold at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics as a 17 year-old and remains a vital part of the team. He’s won a host of other awards and is sure to be great to listen to this Saturday.

The luncheon is $30 per head and includes a quality main meal, one standard drink and cheese & biscuits. Enjoy the full Rovers match-day experience and book today! Bookings can be made online by clicking here or through Jenny Voss: 0411 773 511. Payment is made on arrival. EFTPOS facilities available at the club. Please RSVP by Friday morning.

Live scores will be available by following the Rovers on Twitter: @HRAFC

Also on Saturday, the Thirds will be looking to make it consecutive wins when they take on Richmond Central at Kevin Bartlett Reserve commencing at 2:00pm. View full fixtures here.

Enjoy the Rovers post-game hospitality with the bar open ‘til late.

Meanwhile, the 2011 Domino Luncheon has been confirmed for Friday 12th August at The Sandringham Club with world boxing champion Barry Michael as guest speaker. Click here for details and book your spot for this most-popular Rovers tradition.
