Its derby time with the Hampton Rovers taking on local arch-rivals Beaumaris at Boss James Reserve on Saturday. Its no secret the Rovers have had a terrible start to the year but anything can happen in a big game like this.
Beaumaris have had a reasonable start to 2011 following on from their C section premiership and subsequent promotion last year, winning three games from the opening seven rounds. While the Rovers have had a depleted side and only managed a draw in the season opener.
The clubs havent met at senior level since 2005 and have shared a great rivalry over the years, culminating in the 1998 C section Grand Final in which the Rovers defeated the Sharks by a goal to claim the premiership flag.
All supporters are encouraged to get along to Boss James Reserve on Saturday and help make it a massive crowd for this clash between two of Baysides biggest football clubs. The seniors commence at 2:00pm with the Reserves at 11:40am.
There is also a Rivaly Luncheon on prior to the main game with final bookings now being taken. Enjoy the full Hampton Rovers match day experience and book your seat now Click Here to read more and book.
The day is also being promoted as Juniors Day all junior Rovers players who come along in their footy jumper will receive a free hot dog and drink. Some under 9 players will be present in the rooms to hear the closing stages of coaches speech before the game and all players will form a guard of honour for the senior players to run through. A junior game will also be staged at half time of the seniors.
The Thirds this week take on Ajax at Albert Park commencing at 11:40am, while the Under 19s have already won on default after Oakleigh withdrew so we expect all U19 players to show their support at Boss James Reserve.
Get behind the Rovers this weekend for what will be a big one!
