2011 will be bigger and better yet again, several of last seasons coaches will again be on deck giving their time, parting words of wisdom and overall encouragement so all children enjoy the experience that Auskick brings.
If 2011 is your child’s first year we aim to make it a memorable experience and don’t worry should you not have a sporting background yourself we welcome all new members and families.
In 2010, 206 registered children attended James Boss Reserve at 9.30 each Saturday, we introduced certain initiatives that were greeted with enthusiasm by the children and parents alike, these ideas will follow on into 2011 as we will evolve yet again
So what is happening in 2011?
Our theme for 2011 is Target 230 in 2011, with our aim being to grow beyond 250 registered children by 2012. We have a number of key initiatives that support our target being:
- Greater focus on Female participation via the encouragement of fathers with daughters to get involved in Auskick. Some Girls enjoy the skill and fitness of Auskick but are reluctant to join in when the grid games commence, in 2009 we offered 4-5 girls extended training drills in the second half of the season, this was seen as a clear path forward and will be in place in 2010;
- Grade 3 Boys and Girls that are not quite ready for under 9 football at the Rovers or may have other commitments on a Sunday will not be lost to football as they can still participate in Auskick one more year, Grade 2 & 3 will be combined in 2010.
- A greater focus on nutrition before, during and after Auskick will be continue in 2011, full breakfast, 15 minute intervals for hydration and post training fruit platters will become the norm at Hampton Rovers Auskick.
Our Goal is to make the experience a joyous, fun filled 90 minutes that all family members can participate whilst learning new skills & forging new friendships & kick start a lifelong love affair with the greatest sport on earth.
2011 Registration Day will be held Saturday 26th March, 11:30am – 1:30pm at Boss James Reserve, David Street Hampton.
