2010 Hampton Rovers AGM

The 2010 Hampton Rovers AFC Annual General Meeting was held last Monday at Boss James Reserve, wrapping up a successful season for the green ‘n gold.

It was another great year for the club. Despite increased local competition, player numbers were again very strong with a total of 511 players pulling on the green ‘n gold – 125 senior plus 386 junior and on top of that, a record 206 Auskick participants. While the senior fell away in the second half of the season, they again consolidated Premier B section and look forward to a strong 2011. Two Premierships were won with the Under 15 Div 1 and U13 West sides both taking out their respective flags. Off the field was just as solid, financially, on the social front as well as the role the club played in the community.

Both President’s (Seniors: Jim Westhead and Juniors: Phil Bourke) were re-elected for 2011 as was the Chairman of the Board, Paul Pavlou. A few positions are available on the junior committee and we’d love to see some fresh faces get involved – please contact the club for information.

The respective president’s Jim Westhead and Phil Bourke reflected on the year and thanked a number of people. New senior coach Russell Barnes looked ahead to the 2011 season and what’s in store.

Treasurer Nick Williams talked about the year from a financial point of view and was pleased to announce reasonable profit and that the club is in a fairly healthy financial position. Nick noted sponsorship income as one of the most significant improvements in 2010, while membership/subscription fees and catering income were also up.

The full reports can be read in the 2010 Annual Report which can now be downloaded from the Rovers website – Click Here.

All-in-all, 2010 was a great year for the Hampton Rovers Football Club and we look forward to greater things ahead in 2011. The club would like to thank everyone for their involvement and we look forward to your support in the new year.
