Reserves

2009 Reserves Season Report

The 2009 season was tough, however the senior squad took a massive step forward. Going up two grades in two years made 2009 a big ask for the playing group, but to their credit, the players adapted well and it was fantastic for the club that we managed to consolidate in B section. The one great factor was that we were always competitive and with the help of a few recruits, I have no doubt that we are capable of playing finals in 2010.

The reserves also found the going tough, however the positive was the emergence of some of the younger players such as Jesse Donald and Matt Law as well as some of the U19’s who showed that they were capable of playing senior football.

To our trophy winners congratulations! (Jesse Donald, Lachlan Wheeler, Ben Kezilas, Matt Law and Alex Ross)

The leaders Mitzy, Wheels and Banga thanks for your help, especially your encouragement towards the younger players.

To our medical staff thanks for a great job, the players and coaches appreciate your hard work.

Special thanks to Steve Guy, who was our Team Manager but most weeks completed a number of jobs. John Cesario was my assistant coach and also helped out with the seniors, it was great to work with you and I hope you are still helping next year. Justin Ng was our runner and always did a great job.

To all the parents, especially Nick Giasoumi, who helped out doing various jobs, or simply supported the players, Thanks!

Tim, Cam, and the rest of our great committee, you do a fantastic job and it doesn’t go unnoticed.

And finally to the players, I had a fantastic time coaching and I am looking forward to 2010. For the club to move forward we need a strong Reserves side and for that to happen, the base will be a good and consistent pre-season.
