Hampton Rovers players Leigh Fletcher and Tom Curry have been selected in the senior and U19 squads to take on the VCFL on the 19th of July at Junction Oval.
Leigh Fletcher is widely regarded as one of the leading midfielders in B Section and has been selected in the senior squad to take on the Victorian Country Football League. 13 players from the squad of 46 are from B section with the remaining players all from A section.
Tom Curry has been selected in the Under 19 squad which will play the curtain raiser to the senior game at Junction Oval. Tom was also selected in the U21 squad but was unavailable for the game a couple of weeks back against AFLQ. In that game, another Rovers senior team regular Thom McCarthy did take the field and was amongst the best players for the VAFA. Another Rovers player to be selected in a VAFA representative squad in 2009 was Ryan Semmel for the U23 game against the WAAFL but just missed out on selected in the final team.
