This weekend sees one of Hampton Rovers great servants play his 150th senior game in Gary Carr. Gary first came to the club in 1998 and the three-time Rovers best & fairest winner has shown what every football club would want in a player.
Gary week in week out leads from the front with his fearless marking and the ability to read the play. He has consistently performed at a high level which saw him elevated in 2000 from the Under 19s to the Seniors. Since his debut, Gary has won three Senior Best & Fairests and had multiple top five finishes.
He has been one of few who can claim to have won a Senior Premiership at the club, this being achieved in 2001. Gary has also represented the VAFA at state level in 2004 while injury ruled him out for the Vics in 2005.
On behalf of all of the Committee, Supporters and Members of the Hampton Rovers AFC, we would like to congratulate Gary on his 150th and we hope we see many more quality games from Gary in the future.
Gary unfortunately missed the Old Haileybury clash due to injury but will reach his big 150th milestone in the next game he plays, hopefully this Saturday vs Ormond.
