Rovers-Haileybury Super Saturday!

The Hampton Rovers face Old Haileybury this Saturday in a crucial game in the context of the 2009 season. It’s set to be a massive day at Boss James Reserve with the Seniors, Reserves & Thirds all at home.

Both teams currently sit even on the B Section ladder and are searching for a win. The Rovers hope to be near full strength while it?ll be interesting to see which of the ex-AFL stars turn out for the Bloods. There’s only one way to find out – get along to Boss James Reserve on Saturday for one of the biggest home games of the year.

A big milestone will be reached on Saturday when Gary Carr plays his 150th senior game for the club. The three-time senior best & fairest winner commenced at the club in 1998 and is consistently one of the Rovers best – click here to read more.

The Thirds will get proceedings underway at 9:30am taking on Old Melburnians who currently sit top of the Club XVIII South ladder. The Reserves then take the field at 11:40am followed by the main game at 2:00pm.

A big crowd is expected to attend the game so make sure you get along and enjoy the day. There will also be half-time Auskick and it’s also Juniors Day – whereby all junior Rovers players that come along and wear their Rovers jumper or jacket will receive a free hotdog.

Bookings for the Pre-Game Luncheon are the strongest for 2009 yet, with numbers pushing 80 at this point. We?ve got capacity for several more tables so book now and enjoy a quality meal and a few drinks before the big game. The luncheon commences at 12:30pm with the Bar open from 12 midday and costs just $25 (including one standard drink). Click here to book online or call Jenny Voss on 0411 773 511 (payment is made on arrival).

After the game, the Rovers Bar will be open until late, stay back and enjoy a few drinks!

The Under 19’s are away this Saturday taking on arch rivals Ajax at Albert Park (Gary Smorgon Oval) at 1:00pm. It’s first vs second with one game separating them and it promises to be another great contest between these two teams.
