Sheldon re-appointed for 2009

The Hampton Rovers AFC is pleased to announce senior coach Gary Sheldon has been re-appointed for the 2009 season. Gary has done a superb job with the Rovers lifting them team from D1 to B Section in his two years at the club.

Gary came to the Rovers in 2007 following a successful three year stint at Craigieburn in the Essendon District Football League. Former captain of Coburg, Gary played in two premierships with the VFA club while winning the club best & fairest on two occasions. He was named on the wing in the club’s Team of the Century and was picked in a number of VFA representative sides. He won the VFA’s highest individual honour in 1988 picking up the Liston Medal.

In his two seasons at the Hampton Rovers, Gary has achieved a win-loss ratio of 28-14 and successive Grand Final appearances.

The club now looks forward to recruiting well and having a strong 2009 in VAFA B Section.

Reserves coach Paul Curry and Under 19 coach Anthony Quon have also been re-appointed for 2009 after having great first years.
