Vale – Graham Carr

It is with great regret that the Hampton Rovers Amateur Football Club hears of Graham Carr’s passing. Graham was an irreplaceable clubman, on behalf of the HRAFC & committee we pass on our deepest condolences to Gayle, Gary, Amy & family. We will miss you mate, waving the flags, Thursday night sausages and buying a beer off you from Cobb’s Can Bar. Rest in peace Graham, you will be missed by all tremendously.

As a mark of respect, the Hampton Rovers will wear green & gold armbands in their big home clash against Parkdale Vultures this Saturday at Boss James Reserve. The decision was made by the leadership group and players to wear green & gold over black due to Graham’s love of the club and the fact he was a true dedicated clubman. There will also be a minutes silence in Graham’s honour prior to Saturday’s game.

Graham was farewelled at a moving funeral service on Wednesday 13th August at Le Pine on Dandenong Road in Oakleigh. The venue was full to the brim with people spilling out the doors. Peter Blick and Shaun Graf reflected on Graham’s life, in particular his involvement with the Hampton Rovers Football Club and St Kilda Cricket Club respectively. Hampton Rovers players wearing their green & gold jackets formed a guard of honour as Graham’s body departed. Following the service, the Hampton RSL was packed with people celebrating Graham’s life.
