Hampton Rovers take on Ajax at Gary Smorgon Oval in an important clash between two of the major contenders in C grade this year, it is set to be a great game with both sides eager to get the upper hand leading into the finals. The club has two players celebrating milestones in the clash – Gerrard Woods and Tom Curry.
Gerrard Woods reaches 200 club games and its with great pleasure to congratulate one of Hampton Rovers most consistent and committed players over the past 10 or so years.
Gerrard would be best described as a dour defender with the ability to break the line and create forward movement, he rarely gets beaten & one who is highly respected by the whole playing group. To play 200 games at any level is a great achievement, however Gerrard has consistently played at the highest level he could possibly play for at the club. Gerrard has played in three premierships starting in the Under 17s in 1997, Under 19s in 1999 (undefeated) & the senior C section flag in 2001. He has also received a number of personal accolades over the journey.
Also another terrific milestone is that of Tom Curry, Tom is celebrating his 150th club game for Hampton Rovers. Its Toms first year in the seniors after captaining Sandringham Dragons in the TAC Cup last year, the club is very proud of Toms achievements at U18 level and we believe he will be a long term senior player with the Hampton Rovers.
We would like to wish the both of the boys the best of luck in their milestone games.
