All Systems Go for Season 2008

After a big off-season, the countdown is on to the 2008 VAFA season which kicks-off this Saturday with a massive home game at Boss James Reserve against fellow 2007 Grand Finalists Oakleigh. Don?t forget Thursday’s Jumper Presentation Night and make sure you purchase your 2008 club membership!

After returning straight back up to C Section for 2008, Hampton will be looking to get the season off to a good note in front of their home supporters. While nothing can take away the pain of last years Grand Final result, four points this Saturday will certainly help. It promises to be a fierce clash and a typical large Rovers crowd is expected down at David Street so make sure you get along for all the action.

Get the complete Rovers match day experience by attending the Pre-Game Luncheon. Commencing at 12:30pm, the famous Rovers lunch offers a great feed, all for just $25 (one beer or wine included in price). If you?re looking for value for money or would just like to financially support the club, purchase a Club Membership. We?ve revamped our membership packages in 2008 and we?re encouraging as many supporters as possible to help the club and sign up.

Jumper Presentation Night will be held this Thursday evening following the final training session at Boss James Reserve. Commencing at around 7:30pm, dinner will be provided for a small price (or free for Silver, Gold & Platinum members) and the Bar will be open. Again, all supporters are welcome along.

The Under 19’s are also raring to go – they open their season away at Princes Park where they take on Prahran-Caulfield. Note the different start-time of 11:40am.

The Rovers website allows you to see results of games between the two sides since 2003, simply click through to the fixtures section, from here you can also click on the ground name to view a map.

Thankfully this year the season will not be delayed as it was in 2007 due to the drought, this will mean two weeks off during the year for the Seniors, after having none last year. It’s set to be another big year for the club. Be there from the start.
