The Rovers had a good first-up hit-out against top WRFL club St Albans on Saturday in hot conditions at Boss James Reserve.
Despite fielding a depleted line-up due to unavailability, Hampton stayed with the Division One WRFL club most of the day and went down by only a few goals.
The next practice game is Saturday-week against EDFL club East Keilor also at Boss James Reserve.
Training is now Tuesdays and Thursdays at Boss James Reserve commencing at 6pm.
