Under 19

Big win for U19s at Vultures’ nest

It was a welcome return of local footy as the Hampton Rovers Under 19s made the short trip down the highway to face Parkdale Vultures at Gerry Green Reserve, getting up by 78 points.

With the two previous rounds cancelled due to covid, the round 10 match saw the return to the team of some of our long-term injured players. We welcomed back (VC) Ben Allen, Lachie Fraser, Will Crawford, Hamish Adams, Peter Somogyi and Aussie King. All big ins for the team.

It was a strong performance by the U19’s lead by the captain Liam O’Driscoll who was marking everything that came near him and he booted 5 goals, Benny Maz slotted 4 as well, Mo (Salah) Labib kicked 2 causing a quite a commotion! As did Joey Wilson.

The Rovers also had some big efforts from many on the team, with three players making their debut – Tristan Lilburn, Lachlan Reynolds & Ben Corrigan all having a red hot go as well.

The Rovers led at every change, winning 114 to 36 in the end to hold down 2nd place on the ladder. Great win boys! Next up, we face St Bernards at Boss James Reserve at 2pm this Saturday.
