The Boss lights up

The new lights at Boss James Reserve were switched on for the first time this week and are a huge improvement.

The project commenced late last year but a delay meant they weren’t commissioned until this week, with testing completed on Wednesday night. The first training session was held Thursday night and the players love it.

Boss James Reserve now boasts the best lights of any ground in Bayside, with four 30 metre towers outputting 100 lux.

In the short term there won’t be any senior night matches however there is the possibility of junior matches under lights. The club is keen to explore the possibility of senior/u19 night fixtures in the future.

The existing three light towers will be removed in the near future.

The Rovers’ second home ground, Castlefield Reserve, had new lighting installed in 2013, meaning both the club’s grounds have excellent lighting.
