If your doorbell rings on Sunday make sure youve got some spare change handy.
Chances are it will be one of the 150 Hampton Rovers junior footballers knocking on your Bayside door for the Salvos annual Red Shield Appeal.
Sunday will be the 10th year the club has dashed around town to help the needing charity.
The club needs just $55 per volunteer this week to break through the $75,000 barrier, much to the delight of life member and organiser Bill “Choc” Mirabito.
“The kids do a terrific job, Im really proud,” he said.
“Were one of the biggest community clubs in Bayside so to be able to give back and teach the kids there are less fortunate people in the world than them and give back to the community is great.”
