Rovers v Ormond in Relegation Battle

Posted on

Boss James Reserve is set for a massive battle this Saturday when Hampton Rovers host Ormond in the final round of the season. The equation is simple: the winner survives, the loser returns to C Grade. Book now for the big pre-game luncheon.

These two proud district clubs have shared an immense rivalry over many years. Most memorable for the Rovers is the 1951 A Grade flag, while more recently for Ormond was the 2008 C Section flag. Over the past two years, the rivalry has reignited in a big way and it’s set to continue this Saturday. Unfortunately it will almost certainly mean the end for at least one year with the loser set to be relegated back to C Section for 2010.

A massive crowd is expected to descend on Boss James Reserve and all Hampton Rovers supporters are urged to get along and help the boys over the line and ensure B Grade survival.

Likewise, the pre-game luncheon will be a big one. Last time these two teams met at Boss James Reserve, the lunch attracted a full-house of 150 people. Supporters are urged to book early to ensure their spot. Bookings can be made online by clicking here, or contact Jenny Voss: 0411 773 511. Payment is made on arrival.

District clubs are the true football clubs of this competition – get along Saturday to Boss James Reserve to see the VAFA’s two oldest and proudest district clubs go head-to-head in a match that promises to deliver a top-class game of local amateur footy.

*Don’t forget the Domino Luncheon this Friday at The Sandringham Club, featuring Eugene Arocca. Final bookings are now being taken – Click Here for details.
