Under 16’s win premiership

The Hampton Rovers have won their third junior premiership for the 2007 season with the Under 16’s defeating Oakleigh by 10 points on Sunday at Hurlingham Park.

The Rovers were down in the last quarter and came home with a wet sail. Eddie Turner was best on ground kicking 4 of the 8 goals including the goal to put the Rovers in front.

Congratulations to the boys and coach John Cesario on a great season.

The premiership is the third for the Rovers this year with the Under 12’s and 13’s also taking home the big prize.

Last week, Under 13 East defeated Beaumaris 9.7.61 to 8.5.53, while Under 12 West defeated Ormond 5.11.41 to 1.4.10. Unfortunately Under 12 East who have won the previous two premierships went down to Northvale 4.6.30 to 9.11.65.

The club congratulates Michael Karayannis from the Under 15’s who won his 5th medal in a row at the MSJFL Presentation Night. Michael has won two runner-up and the last three league Best & Fairest’s.
