Under 9’s Info & Season Launch

The Hampton Rovers again plan on fielding three Under 9 teams in 2007.

Mark Brayshaw is coaching one of the teams this year however we haven’t identified the other two coaches at this stage. If you’re interested in coaching one of the U9 teams or if you’re an organised person who can lend a hand as a team manager, please contact junior president Chris Toouli on 0411 555 874.

It is intended that training for each of the teams will take place Wednesday evenings between 5pm & 6pm at Boss James Reserve, corner David Street & Bluff Road Hampton. Owing to the drought, the local Council has forbidden any football training prior to April. Consequently, the first training session will be held Wednesday 4th April 2007.

Team Lists for our three U9 teams will be selected, with children allocated to a team based on the following guidelines: We attempt to place children from the same school in the same team; We do all we can to ensure friends play together; We try to limit each team to 23 Players (Maximum); and the final composition of team lists is a Committee decision.

Our club has a very strict policy regarding player involvement (especially at U9 level), whereby all attempts are made to ensure each player gets a fair go, having regard for their attendance record (at training and on match days) and irrespective of their natural ability.

2007 SEASON LAUNCH
To kick-off the season, there will be a season launch on Sunday 1st April at Boss James Reserve commencing at 11am for all Under 9 players and their parents/guardians. This will be a general information day, during which time team lists will be announced, coaches introduced, questions answered and last-minute administration attended to, the kids will meet each other, have a kick of a footy, followed by a sausage sizzle and soft drink. Please note this important date in your diary.

The first game of the season will be played on the morning of Sunday 29th April. Details will be provided between now and then, by your team manager and on the Rovers website.

We look forward to a fantastic season in 2007, where everybody supports the kids and rolls up her/his sleeves to help out wherever possible!
