The Hampton Rovers had a solid hit-out in their first practice game against good opposition in Beaumaris at Boss James Reserve on Saturday.
With many players still to return, the Rovers showed plenty of promise in the hot conditions against the 2006 B-Section side. The Reserves and Under 19s also had good match practice in preparation for the 2006 VAFA season.
The Rovers next week face Old Camberwell at home with the Under 19s at 10am, Reserves 12pm and Seniors 2pm. The final practice match will take place the following week against Ormond also at Boss James Reserve. A weeks break will then occur for Easter before the real action kicks-off.
