Rovers fail to Parade

Old Paradians maintained their unbeaten record at home in 2005 as they defeated the Rovers by 21 points on Saturday.

In cold conditions out at Bundoora, it was Parade who came out to play. The home side lead by 9 points at the first break.

They booted 5 in the second to the Rovers 2 to hold a 29 point lead at half time. After the main break it was all even as both sides kicked 2 goals with Old Paradians leading by 33 points going into the last term.

The Rovers played better footy in the last kicking 5 goals to Parade’s 3, but it was the home side which held on to win the game and hand the Rovers three straight losses.

First gamer in the ones Ryan Semmel played well with Anthony Browne in his 150th VAFA game best for the Rovers with Corcoran and Zampaglione also in the leading players.

To prove the evenness of C Section in 2005, there were a couple of surprise results on Saturday with Ajax belting 2nd placed Parkdale Vultures by 7 goals and Blacks defeating the Wellers by 43 points. While Monash Blues handed out a 107 point thrashing at the hands of Therry.
