Brett McIlwraith has been re-appointed as the Hampton Rovers AFC Senior Coach for 2005 after doing an excellent job in his first year at the helm in 2004. Brett has been a tremendous acquisition to the Rovers and the club had no hesitation in re-appointing him for the season ahead. In 2005, we look forward to Brett building upon the solid foundations that were laid in 2004.
Tony Naumoff has been re-appointed as the Reserves coach for 2005. Tony led the Reserves to the flag in 2004 – the first Rovers Reserves premiership for 20 years. It was a great achievement from a guy who has been a long standing player and coach at the Rovers. We are delighted that he will coach the Reserves next season as the team looks to repeat its outstanding success of 2004.
Dale Ross has been appointed as the under 19s coach for 2005. Dale has coached many junior teams at the Rovers. In 2003, he was at the helm when the under 17s won the Premiership. And in 2002, he led the under 16s to a premiership. We are very confident that Dale and his extensive support staff – many of whom are already in place – will re-build the Rovers under 19s to be a force in this level of football in 2005. The Hampton Rovers would also like to take this opportunity to thank Michael Blake for his contribution as the club’s under 19s coach in 2002 and 2003.
