200-Game Luncheon a success

90 people attended the 200-game luncheon held last Saturday at Boss James Reserve prior to the match against Parkdale Vultures. Many of the Rovers greats attended and caught up with old mates.

As a mark of appreciation and a permanent reminder of past and present players who have played 200 VAFA games with our great club, Hampton Rovers unveiled an honour board recognising the outstanding achievement of these players.

A further two guests spoke at the luncheon, Mark Wheeler – president of USFOOTY, and Andrew McLorinan from the Bayside City Council. Mark spoke about the progress of Aussie Rules in the USA and the relationship the Rovers have developed with International Aussie Rules organizations. Andrew spoke briefly about the advertising signage issue and announced a $500 donation from the Council to the club.

There are now only two luncheons remaining for the year. You can book for these online now by clicking here. Please Note, due to the 75th Anniversary Dinner, there will be no luncheon for the Monash Blues home game (July 17).
