WYLIE AUSTIN TROPHY
Awarded to the best player in a finals series.
Nominations:
Under 11 South – Michael Karayannis
Michael is a gun on baller who is as tough as nails and always on the bottom of the packs. Won the award for Best on Ground for the U 11’s premiership.
Under 12 East – Corey Maynard
Had a great year and a top finals series, polling votes in all 3 finals.
Under 13 East – Dave Fallon
Almost a faultless display in both the first semi and the prelim. A tough centreman with superb skills on both sides of his body. (plus, his Dad is our major sponsor!!!)
Under 14’s – Daniel Sargent
Daniel is a real gutsy rover who had a great year and really stepped up a cog to play a big part in the U 14’s finals campaign. Also is an MSJFL umpire and did a great job at that as well.
Under 17’s – Guy Martyn
The captain and prime mover in our U 17 premiership team. Guy would have certainly played more senior football with us (played one game) if not for injury and committments to the Sandringham Dragons. A talented and mature player who has a big future in football. We wish him the best in his efforts to reach the top in football – but we also hope some of it is with Hampton Rovers!!
