Rovers Fate Sealed

On Saturday at Central Reserve in Waverly, Mazenod comfortably defeated the Rovers by 39 points. In the remaining 4 games, the Rovers face top sides Old Essendon and Whitefriars both away and Old Paradians and De La Salle both battling for the remaining two positions in the final four.

Mazenod came out firing kicking 5 goals in the opening minutes and continued to apply the pressure to lead by 9 goals to 1 at the end of the 1st Quarter. To come back from this position was a tough ask for the under manned Rovers, however they showed better determination in the remaining 3 Quarters to outscore the opposition by 11 goals to 9. At one stage, they managed to get within 27 points of the home side, however Mazenod sealed the win with late goals. The Artz brothers, Michael Fletcher and Anthony Browne all tried their hearts out for all 4 quarters.

Next game is not until August 2nd and is the final home game against Old Paradians. After the last home game where 110 people attended the pre-game luncheon, with several people turned away, make sure you book early to avoid any disappointment.
