Under 19’s thrash Paradians

Round 10 had the Under 19’s at home to Old Paradians. In Round 1 we only got up by a narrow margin and if we are to be a genuine finals participant we needed a big win over the bottom side.

We started reasonably well but the first half was a battle of the half back lines as both teams stacked this area of the field. The difference at half time was 2 points our way.

After the main break we got our game together and looked to be about to cut loose a couple of times only for Paradians to keep coming back.

The last quarter was very much one way traffic but unfortunately we didn’t really do the job on the scoreboard. Three goals for the quarter wasn’t a fair indicator of our supremacy and this was due to kicking nine behinds and one out on the full. Really the 40 point margin could have been far more and we threw away a chance to boost what is a poor percentage.

Tom McNamara‘s second half was good after being cleaned up by a team mate in the first quarter. Butch McCarthy was good all day as were David O’Brien and David Williams.

We have some tough games coming up and need to be focused for a good run at the double chance.
