Old Paradians were reminded of an old football adage on Saturday – its never over until the final siren.
In a drama-packed VAFA B Section clash at David Street, Hampton Rovers trailed for all but four minutes of the match, but were ahead when it mattered.
It was a win personified by persistence and fitness. The visitors had skipped out to a three goal lead at the main break but were never safe as the Rovers edged back into the contest.
With Adam Power and Michael Davey providing the targets up forward and the defence holding firm under fierce pressure, the home side finally took the lead as the clock ticked into time-on in the final quarter.
Old Paradians snatched a late goal to edge back within five points before time ran out.
