It was a day to remember for the Hampton Rovers, with all five teams recording victories in a perfect Saturday of football.
Played in ideal conditions at PEGS Sporting Fields, the Senior Men produced a comprehensive performances after a slow start, while the Senior Women, Reserves, Thirds and Under 19s all joined the winners’ list to complete a clean sweep for the club.
Senior Men
After conceding the opening goal and trailing by 10 points early, the Rovers settled into the contest and edged ahead late in the opening quarter through goals to Lui Coughlin, Mason Carrigan and Toby Clarkson.
From there, Hampton took control, in what were rare perfect conditions at the PEGS Playing Fields. Tommy Keyte sparked a dominant second quarter with two early goals before Will Crawford and Liam O’Driscoll added to the scoreboard, helping the Rovers open up a 27-point lead at the main break.
The third quarter belonged to the Rovers as they piled on six goals. Keyte continued his outstanding afternoon in his return game with three more majors for the term, while O’Driscoll, Max Blackie and Clarkson also found the big sticks as Hampton extended the margin beyond 40 points.
The final quarter followed a similar pattern, with Crawford, Christian Carnovale, Carrigan, Lachlan Costello and O’Driscoll all kicking goals as the Rovers ran out convincing 68-point winners, 19.16 (130) to 9.8 (62).
Tommy Keyte finished with five goals, William Crawford added four and Liam O’Driscoll three in an impressive team performance. Lui Coughlin, Christian Carnovale, Crawford, Daniel Field, O’Driscoll and Mason Carrigan were named the side’s best players.

Senior Women
The Senior Women secured another hard-fought victory at Boss James Reserve, defeating UHS-VU by six points in an outstanding performance.
After leading at every change, the Rovers held their nerve in a tight second half to record a well-earned 4.3 (27) to 2.9 (21) win.
Grace Bonanno kicked two goals, while Greta Robertson and Maegan Miller also hit the scoreboard. Zoe Hewlett led the way in an outstanding team performance.

Reserves
The Reserves delivered a dominant four-quarter display against an undermanned PEGS, keeping the opposition scoreless while piling on 21 goals to record a remarkable 152-point victory.
Clinton Young starred with eight goals in his return, Ryan Leslie kicked four, and the Rovers shared the scoring around in a complete team performance.

The Thirds were equally dominant at Boss James Reserve, cruising to a 102-point victory over the Wattle Park Animals.
Leading from the opening bounce, the Rovers finished with 20 goals, led by Mitchell Hall’s four majors, while Wilbur Derham, Angus Zufic, Eliot Jurdukian, Jesse Rees, Oliver Bennett and Richard Atkins all contributed multiple goals.

The Under 19s made the early trip to Princes Park worthwhile, defeating Old Haileybury by 18 points.
The Rovers established a strong lead in the opening half before withstanding an Old Haileybury fightback after the main break, finishing strongly to record a 13.13 (91) to 10.13 (73) victory in one of their performances of the season.
Benjamin Weeks, Cohen Friend, Dougal McCartney and Oli Roberts each kicked two goals, while Roberts, Lachlan Strahan and Benjamin Celantano were among the standout performers.
