Hampton Rovers play their final home game of 2017 on Saturday and it’s the most crucial of the campaign with a win against top-side Caulfield Grammarians required to help the club avoid relegation.
The Rovers are in good form following two consecutive wins against second-placed Old Haileybury by 33 points and last week defeating Old Camberwell by 19 points away from home.
The improvement in the side has been noticeable since the mid-season introduction of Anthony Quon as senior coach, however it was always going to be tough to turn results around following a poor start to the campaign.
Now it’s down to the final two rounds of the season and the Rovers must win the two remaining games against Caulfield at home this week and Old Mentonians away next week and rely on one of Old Ivanhoe or Old Camberwell losing their two remaining matches to avoid relegation from VAFA Premier C section.
The club is calling on all supporters to get along to Boss James Reserve this Saturday to cheer on the boys as they look to finish the year strong and avoid the drop. We want a big crowd in attendance to produce a great atmosphere for the boys. All senior parents, family & friends, junior players and parents are encouraged to get along in their green & gold. The Seniors match commences at 2:00pm and the Reserves get underway at 11:40am.
It’s also the final Home Game Luncheon of 2017 and this is your last chance to get along and enjoy a great meal prior to the big game. Again, we encourage everyone to get along and support the club – just $30 per head for a quality main meal with drinks available at bar prices. Get a table together or book individually through Gary Nash on firstname.lastname@example.org or sms/call 0407 313 054 (payment is made on arrival).
Following the game, we welcome everyone into the social rooms for post-match drinks and match presentations.
Also on Saturday, both Under 19’s are in action with the firsts taking on Old Haileybury away at 9:20am. The seconds play eight-placed Aquinas at Castlefield Reserve at 11:40am and a win will put them in the top six assuming Williamstown can’t get over the line against second-placed Old Camberwell.
Keep up to date during the day by following the Hampton Rovers Football Club on Social Media including Twitter, Facebook & Instagram. Get along to the ground and cheer on the green & gold!
