Rovers face Beaumaris

Hampton Rovers make the short trip to Beaumaris on Saturday to face the Sharks in round 15 of the 2016 VAFA Premier B season.

Its bottom v top, with Beaumaris having a superb season currently on 11 wins and two losses, while the Rovers have won just the three matches. Confidence will be high however after a great win last week over Old Haileybury.

Last time the two teams met, round six at Boss James Reserve, it was a reasonably tight affair, with the margin under 10 points in the third term, before the Sharks finished stronger to win by 28 points.

Ex-Saint Stephen Milne won’t be lining up for Beaumaris after he was suspended for two week’s during last Saturday’s victory over Old Scotch. But they’ve got plenty of class and it’ll be a tough challenge for the young Rovers side. Hampton will go into the game knowing the last time they played at Banksia Reserve, it was an upset 31 point win over the home side back in 2011.

Three changes for the Rovers to the side that recorded their third victory of the season last week, including one debut which is great to see.

Get along and show your support for the boys – the Seniors kick-off at 2pm with the Reserves at 11:40am. View map of Banksia Reserve.

You can follow the Live Scores of the seniors and all VAFA games via the Rovers website and mobile site. And don’t forget to follow the Rovers on our social media channels to stay up-to-date with all the action: Facebook (fb.com/hamptonrovers, Twitter (@HRAFC) and Instagram (hamptonrovers).

The Under 19s travel to Bulleen to face seventh-placed Marcellin, commencing at 2pm. The boys will be looking to get back on the winners list following a tough outing last week, struggling with numbers, but giving it their all.
