The 2014 Hampton Rovers Ladies Luncheon on Saturday was another successful one with around 130 people attending and over $2,000 raised for the Zaidee’s Rainbow Foundation.
The lunch is traditionally the biggest of the year for the club and Saturday was no different with all seats booked prior to the day. There were a few late pull-outs but it was still a bumper attendance. A sensational meal was put on by our new caterers who continue to maintain the high standards set by our previous caterer.
Australian runner Kelly Hetherington was guest speaker and she spoke about her younger years, competing in the 800m at the 2013 IAAF World Championships and her preparations for the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
The club would like to thank Chelsey Tregear and the team at Moorabbin Foot Centre for supporting the day as the official sponsor.
All ladies in attendance received a gift bag which included goodies from Heritage Brands, Sheek Hair Design in Moordialloc and L’Oréal. A big thank you to Annie Westhead, Katie d’Offay and Jan Morecroft for their generous support. There were also a number of raffles with prizes from Energizer and ‘The Manse’ in Daylesford. Thanks also to everyone who assisted on the day to make it happen and all those who attended and helped us raise $2,300 for such a great cause.
While the Rovers couldn’t get it done on the field, going down to Peninsula Old Boys and losing their first home game in two seasons, it was still a fantastic day at Boss James Reserve. All Hampton Rovers players wore Zaidee’s Rainbow Shoelaces to show their support for the cause.
