During the 2011/12 summer, the playing surface at
Boss James Reserve will be completely resurfaced for
the first time, providing the two major tenants, Hampton Rovers Football Club
and Hampton Cricket Club, as well as the local community, with the best ground
in Bayside. The $800k project will see turf laid (as opposed to seed planted), meaning
works will take approximately six months and the Rovers will be back on the
ground around the commencement of the 2012 VAFA season.

lighting in the future.
Completed
in October 2011 were the new Cricket practice nets. The four new nets replaced the old
nets and are now situated completely off the ground meaning there'll be no wear
and tear on the grass in front of them which previously was a risk to players
during footy games. Boss James Reserve now boasts some of the best cricket
training facilities in the area. They were officially opened in early October
2011. Bayside City Council contributed $77.5k towards the project. |
