Boss James Reserve has been the home of the Hampton Rovers Football Club since 1963
when the club moved from Ludstone Street. The ground was officially renamed Boss James Reserve
from David Street Reserve in 2002 in memory of the club's
founder. Boss James Reserve boasts some of the best facilities in the VAFA with
the
latest major redevelopment at the ground taking place over the summer of 2001/02. Work
included tripling the size of the social rooms with glass frontage overlooking the ground,
new mens and ladies toilets, new fully equipped gym connected to the home rooms
as well as renovated larger away rooms. Other facilities at Boss James include a
fully licensed bar (renovated in 2007), canteen, large home rooms including
newly renovated shower facilities and a medical room. Boss James Reserve itself
is a large perfect-shaped oval measuring 162 x 138 metres
with a grass embankment surrounding the ground. 4 light towers with 2 lights on
each illuminate the ground suitable for training and junior matches. The ground
is serviced by two sealed car parks, while additional parking
on match days is available on the embankment surrounding the ground, as well as
plenty of street parking. See the below map for a plan of Boss James Reserve.
