Hi there
boys and girls,
I’m Dipper, the NAB
AFL Auskick Ambassador and it’s great to
have you on the team in 2008. Last year,
we had 161,159 children from all over
Australia take part in this fantastic
program and 125 kids at Hampton Rovers
Auskick! Now that is one HUGE team
NAB AFL Auskick is
the Australian Football League’s key
introductory program for primary
school-aged boys and girls and their
families. Through our
WEEKLY
COACHING PROGRAM you’ll learn the
skills of the game through appropriately
modified activities and rules, play
football in a
fun and
safe environment and make plenty
of new friends too!
As a registered
participant you will also receive a
benefits pack jammed full of awesome
goodies AND you will automatically go
into the draw to win a trip to Melbourne
to participate in the 2007 NAB AFL
Auskick Grand Final activities. How good
is that?!
It’s
time to get ready for another great
footy season and thank you from everyone
at the AFL for being a part of our team
in season 2008.
Have fun!

Questions you may have as a parent.
Is it OK for
boys and girls?
You bet it is; everyone is
involved.
Can parents
get involved?
The program was supported by
more than 20,000 volunteers around the
country in 2006.
THIS
TEAM IS FOR YOU TOO! The
involvement of parents is an integral
component of the success of the program,
so get out of the car and get involved.
Your centre coordinator will provide all
the help and advice you need. You don’t
need to have a background in the game,
just the willingness to spend more time
with your children, learn new skills,
get active and make new friends.
NAB AFL
Auskick is RUN BY THE COMMUNITY FOR THE
COMMUNITY!
Is it
fun?
You’re joking, is footy fun? It’s the
greatest game in the world.
Is it
safe?
NAB AFL Auskick has been developed with
fun and safety as its prime drivers.
Will it
work for very young kids?
NAB AFL Auskick starts with
five-year-olds and teaches kids
fundamental motor skills.
What
will we get out of it?
Everyone, boys, girls and parents, will
learn the skills of the best game in the
world and be physically active while
making new friends.
Anything
else I need to know?
Yep, if you have a go, you’ll end up
fitter and healthier and discover part
of yourself you never knew existed.
To ensure each child
gains the maximum benefits whilst
participating in the NAB AFL Auskick
program, the AFL has redesigned the 2007
lesson plans.

The NAB AFL Auskick ”Rookie" program has
been designed for children aged five to
eight years. It ensures that all
children develop the fundamental skills
required to participate in Australian
Football. Children participate in
activities designed to improve the
various skills of the game, followed by
a modified game in an environment which
safely allows children to practice their
Australian Football skills.

Designed with a game sense focus, the
NAB AFL Auskick “Pro” program is for
children aged nine to 12 years. The
lesson plans focus on various game sense
activities and drills and provided
participants with extended opportunities
to participate in modified games.
And
all you have to do is REGISTER to
